The Republicans vying for the party's nomination for Broome County district attorney are taking issue with what shows up in online campaign filings.

Michael Korchak Tuesday evening released a statement suggesting Paul Battisti's latest campaign finance reports reflect "a persistent pattern of irregularities."

Korchak maintained that, as filed, some of Battisti's supporters "appear to have made contributions beyond the legal limits" established by the state Board of Elections.

Korchak cited contributions listed for Friends of David Harder, Weitsman Shredding LLC and businessman John Manculich, as well as the law firm of Jackson Bergman LLP.

In a statement issued about two hours later, Paul Battisti said "every contribution falls within the legal limits" for this year's primary and general elections.

Battisti also accused Korchak of violating campaign finance rules because his financial report doesn't reflect television or Facebook advertising purchases.

Battisti contended Korchak is "hiding something or he's skirting the rules."

Battisti's online campaign filing details thousands of dollars in ad buys with TV stations and Facebook.

The Republican primary is June 25. Debra Gelson is running as the Democratic candidate for district attorney.
