Sheriff’s officials say 18-year-old Cody Coleman was arrested May 7 on an active bench warrant issued in the Town of Smithville Court.  Little information was available other than Coleman was arrested for allegedly violation special conditions of his probation.  He is being held without bail

Authorities, meanwhile, continue to investigate the death of 16-year-old Amelia Wakefield.

Sheriff’s Deputies, Village of Greene Police and New York State Police responded to a home on Water Street in the Town of Smithville at 6:51 p.m. May 3 and found the body of the girl.

Authorities have not offered any new information on the results of an autopsy that was to have been conducted at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.

Calling hours for Wakefield will be held May 9 at the Behe Funeral Home in Oxford from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, May 10 in the auditorium of the Oxford Middle School.
