Authorities were called to a multi-family home between Hawley and Susquehanna Streets at around 10:30 p.m. for a man reported armed and holding people inside the house.  The situation was resolved with no injuries after a couple hours of negotiation.

The man, who reportedly made threats and possibly was suicidal was taken for mental health evaluation after coming out of the residence and surrendering to authorities.  The man reportedly had a shotgun, which he unloaded and put down on the ground.

Supervisors praised officers' patience and skill in handling the negotiations with the suspect.

The investigation is continuing.
