This past Friday I was at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena for 'Whale Night with the Binghamton Senators'. I am always amazed at the wide range of demographics that come to root on our home team.

Children, parents, seniors. young couples, friends, many wearing the colors of the Binghamton Senators, and I was once again reminded that this hockey team was much more than that. For it's hundreds of loyal fans, it's a part of their life.

Even before the game, 'Max', the B-Sens mascot was already greeting fans and taking pictures, giving high fives, and shaking hands. The Army recruiters at the table next to us were having fun with the kids doing push ups with them.

The first intermission I got to announce a youth hockey exhibition with the 'Mighty Mites' team, you could hear the parents cheering on the kids and they skated on the ice.

The B-Sens are also involved in many charities, assisting organizations in our community to support local programs and services. They have one of the most loyal fan bases I have ever seen, and it's not hinged on the teams success, fans simply love the team.

If you're a regular you know what I'm talking about, and if you haven't been to a game or it's been a while, I encourage you to get out to a game soon.
