The Binghamton Mets made the post season for the third straight year, but fell short of their quest to bring back to back championships, losing to Reading in the first round of the playoffs.

The good news is they'll be back in Binghamton again next spring for another exciting year of hometown baseball!

I would like to point out this team had the third best record in the Eastern League, as only three games in the win-loss column separated them from the top team.

Baseball is a game of streaks. Like most sports you can hit a slump, and unfortunately the B-Mets couldn't put together enough consecutive hits to win in the post season.

Our Binghamton Mets had a very good year. They had a winning record, they made the post season, and they gave the fans another exciting year of baseball.

I have probably said this in many of my past sports blogs, but I'm going to say it again, we are very fortunate to have a professional baseball team in our backyard.

Congratulations to the players, coaches and staff on a job well done!

Here's to another exciting season in 2016! Go B-Mets!
