Binghamton, New York Market Reflects On A Year At New Location Following Fire
Many great things are happening in the Triple Cities. The many projects being built like the increased presence around Johnson City with Binghamton University. There's the new Pharmacy School and Nursing School, and two more buildings are currently under construction along Corliss Avenue.
There's work being done at the Townsquare Mall, word of things happening at the Parkway Plaza, and the Oakdale Commons, formerly the Oakdale Mall. And that's just touching the surface of new construction happening in the Triple Cities.
We've even seen businesses return in the past year. You may remember back in March of 2021, because of a fire, the A1 Grocery and Halal store closed and the building was torn down. But that didn't deter the owners from giving up. The owners set up a GoFundMe to help rebuild the business, and the community responded.
The support from the community was so special and helpful,” Ansari said. “The donations were amazing, but just having the community’s support impacted us and led to our reopening. - A1 Owner Ammar Ansari
After months of hard work, owner Ammar Ansari and his family are back with the A1 Grocery and Halal in a new location - 146 Main Street, Binghamton, one year ago, right next to the Ancient Order of Hibernians building.
A1 Grocery and Halal just celebrated their first anniversary of returning to the community on August 16th. It's great to have a local business get back on its feet, and we welcome the Ansari family back to the Triple Cities.
