Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting of a woman in downtown Binghamton.

Authorities say 19-year-old Jalil Butts of Binghamton was taken into custody Thursday in the First Ward.

Butts was arrested on a Broome County Court warrant for second-degree attempted murder.

Investigators say Binghamton police and Broome County Sheriff's Office detectives tracked down Butts while working as part of a U.S. Marshals Task Force detail.

Police surrounded an apartment house at 21 Lake Avenue around 7 a.m. Thursday. Butts surrendered without incident.

Police say Butts was a suspect in the St. Patrick's Day shooting of a 19-year-old woman who was in a parked vehicle on Chenango Street outside the area of the Cave Bar Nightclub.

The first arrest in the shooting investigation was made last month. Police took 19-year-old Antonio Jones of Taftville, Connecticut into custody on Edwards Street. He was charged with attempted murder and assault.
