Basketball season arrives for the Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team on Friday night when they host LeMoyne College at 7:00 PM at the Events Center (air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). Coach Bethann Shapiro Ord begins her second season leading the Bearcats.

Senior and Preseason America East All-Conference selection Kai Moon leads the way.  She averaged over 13 points per game last season. Forward Carly Boland returns for her senior campaign when she averaged 9.5 points per game and averaged 2.7 blocks per contest.  Senior guard Karlee Krchnavi returns after averaging over six rebounds for game last year.

Freshmen arriving on the scene include Denai Bowman who was a first-team All-State performer in Maryland.  Zahra Barnes enters college competition from Maryland as well.  She was named to her All-Conference team three times in high school.   Matilda Sorich joins the Bearcats all the way from Zagreb, Croatia.  She is a three-time Under 18 national champion in Croatia.  Khoryn Bannis scored over 1,000 points  at Matawan Regional High School in New Jersey. Another member of the 1,000 point club is Freshmen Claire Traeger who is from Dallas, Texas.

Returning at a forward position is Olivia Ramil who averaged 7.9 points per game last year and 4.9 rebounds per outing.  Her sister Annie was named to the America East All-Rookie Team last season.  Kaylee Wasco returns after making 14 starts last year.
