A recent audit by the New York State Comptroller’s office raised concern with the Village contracting with a local hardware store that is owned by a member of the Board of Trustees and his spouse.

Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office says Village officials generally agreed to adopt procedures to detect and prevent conflicts of interest in contracts.

According to DiNapoli’s office, there were 19 contracts between the Village and the Trustee’s hardware store, totaling $4,190 with the official receiving a direct or indirect monetary benefit.

The audit of the Village of 1,319 residents was conducted between June of 2017 and January 18 of this year.
