After growing up in Alaska and moving around the country for 15 years, I landed in Rochester in 2010 and moved to Buffalo in 2018. Outside of work, I like to keep active playing racquetball, running, hiking, biking, and golfing in the summer. I need to do all of that with all the great food here in Western New York. No, before you ask, it’s not dark in Alaska (everywhere) 24 hours a day or light for that long. You have to be above the arctic circle for that to happen. I grew up in Anchorage, well south of that. Yes, I saw all sorts of wildlife hanging out in my backyard, from moose to bears and bald eagles. No, I have no desire to go back. Ever. 26 years was enough for me, thanks. I love living in Buffalo with all the great restaurants, things to do (here and within driving distance), and the people. This truly is the city of good neighbors, and it shows.

Do You Remember the First Song You Cranked Up After Getting Your License?
Of all the senses, smell is the sense that is the most closely associated with memory. Some smells can transport you through time almost instantaneously. A whiff of a long-forgotten perfume and you can almost taste your first kiss. And while the sense most closely associated with smell is taste, not too far below those senses is sound. If there's one thing that can take you back in time, take you back to those feelings, to that moment...it's the music. There are a lot of firsts in your life - but I bet one you'll never forget is that first song you cranked after you got your driver's license.
