An Afton man is accused of driving while impaired by drugs after New York State Police say employees of the Sunoco gas station on County Route 39 in Bainbridge found him slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle and they couldn’t wake him.

Troopers responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. October 31 and determined 25 year old Taylor Nelson was impaired by drugs. Authorities say they found a counterfeit $100 bill, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Nelson is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony criminal possession of a forged instrument as well as misdemeanors operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

He was sent to the Chenango County Jail without bail.
