After Looking at the Forecast I’m Not Golfing This Weekend Either
The weather was beautiful in the Binghamton area last weekend. Chris and I spent most of the weekend outside finishing up the landscape project we started last year which we dubbed the sidewalk to nowhere.
While we were laying down the paving stones both Saturday and Sunday, my friend Ron drove by our house on his way to En-Joie to golf. He honked, waved, and yelled out the window as he went by both days.
While we were leveling off the paving stones, all I kept thinking was Ron is a lucky bastard. He's out there golfing in this beautiful weather and I'm stuck here doing doing this. I kept telling myself next I would go golfing next weekend. Now, being that the National Weather Service in Binghamton is calling for snow Friday into Saturday, and then snow squalls possible during the day on Saturday, I guess I won't be golfing this Saturday either.
Sunday is Mother's Day. Over the last few years my stepson Ian and I have taken Chris out for Mother's Day brunch and then the three of us would go golfing to celebrate Mother's Day. The forecast Sunday is saying partly sunny with a high in the upper 40's. I'm thinking that might be too cold to golf.
Chris and I are in a couples golf league at Conklin Players Club on Monday nights. That's supposed to start this coming Monday. The forecast for Monday is calling for rain and snow showers.
Damn Binghamton weather.
