Imagine this: Your company’s officials from several states have been planning to visit your Binghamton offices for weeks.  Preparations have been made, the cubicles tidied, lunch arrangements finalized and even fresh flowers in place to brighten up the joint but everything is cancelled due to ice at the Greater Binghamton Airport.

For the first time in days, planes are sporadically landing at the local airport.  Recreational travelers and business people trying to get into the Southern Tier have had to change their plans since the winter storm over the weekend made runway conditions unsafe.

Broome County aviation officials say the decision whether to land, divert or cancel flights lies with the airline.

Travelers are always encouraged to check with their airline, especially before, during and after bad weather to confirm the status of their flight.
