It has been a crazy and destructive week! First I dinged my step-son's truck and then....

Well, let's start at the beginning. My husband, Tom, has to eat gluten free food. So that means sometimes I have to convert a recipe when I use rice flour instead of regular flour or GF Bisquick for regular.

I decided to make Impossible Cheeseburger Pie on Wednesday. I "eyeballed" the bisquick and put it all together then tossed it in the oven. About 10 minutes later, I heard a hiss. The bisquick was oozing out of the pan and onto the bottom of the oven. I grabbed a cookie sheet and viola! problem solved. Until I went to check on it again.

There was a little fire, ok medium sized fire, in the oven! I looked for an extinguisher and discovered we don't have one. So I dutifully called Tom, who started laughing. He grabbed baking soda and doused the flames.

In case you're wondering, the Cheeseburger Pie was fine. Tom said it was the best he had ever had. I guess it's better flame kissed! Who knew?

Speaking of who knew, I learned something. Baking soda is a great fire douser. And you should always have an extinguiser in the kitchen. Oh, and always bake a pie on a cookie sheet.

Enjoy the laugh! Tom did.
