VIDEO: Trump Chats with Adam Weitsman’s Daughter About Parenting
Businessman Adam Weitsman has posted a video clip of a portion of his daughter Clover's conversation with former President Donald Trump.
Clover chatted with Trump on Weitsman's private jet in late April. Weitsman told WNBF News Sunday afternoon that he decided to release a snippet of the encounter because he thought "it'll be fun."
In the excerpt, the 11-year-old Clover asked the former president about what advice he would give her dad about raising her and her two sisters.
Trump said when it came to his kids, he told them: "No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes."
Weitsman, who owns Owego-based Upstate Shredding, said the video was recorded by Trump's "press person." He said Clover asked him four questions in a conversation that lasted about 45 minutes.
Weitsman said he was sitting across from his daughter and the former president during the interview, which he said he set up as a homeschooling project. The Vestal resident said he asked Clover if it was OK for him to post the video and she approved.
Weitsman said Trump "didn't sugar-coat anything" when he responded to his daughter's questions, despite her age. For now, he's not planning to release any more of the conversation.
Weitsman said he believes Clover "was really happy" to have had the opportunity to speak with the former president.
Clover's next prominent interview guest will be another prominent person. Weitsman said he expects his daughter will have a conversation with former First Lady Michelle Obama "sometime in the fall."
