99.1 The Whale Wants You to Meet George Thorogood

George Thorogood and the Destroyers are celebrating 45 years of rockin' and they're bringing the party to Tioga Downs Casino in Nichols on Friday night July 26th.

I saw George many years ago at the then, Broome County Veteran's Memorial Arena. He opened for Z.Z. Top and George and his band had a white backdrop and white lights. They were only given about 10 feet of the stage to work with, and just over an hour to cram all of their hits into one long set and let me tell you, they did it. Not only did they do it, but they rocked it.  Every song that they played, everyone in the crowd knew and sang along with. There was so much energy coming off that stage that you couldn't help but move to the music.

There were no special effects, no fancy stage props or pyrotechnics, but it didn't matter because it was high energy in your face bluesy rock that left you saying wow, that was awesome.
