Instances of road rage are spiraling out of control and drivers are becoming concerned. Just last week, two violent incidences made national news.
Do you know what road rage consists of, though?

You may think it is the violent instances where people beat on someone or shoot them, but that is the tail end of a road rage incident. They start with a simple bad driving choice.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), defines road rage as this "when individuals commit a combination of moving traffic offenses so as to endanger other persons or property."

The most common forms are tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, running stop signs or lights, and driving at excessive speeds. This is just the tip of the iceberg. It can escalate into murder.

Let's be really honest here. We have ALL been guilty of road rage at one time or another in our lives. If you are an impatient driver, you may still do it without realizing it.

Oh! A side note. Driving while texting or talking on a cell phone will seriously increase your chances of being involved in a road rage incident. Why? Because these actions cause you to drive erratically including dropping your speed well below the speed limit. Please don't do these actions, they are illegal for a reason.
