A Walton woman is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly allowing a 12 year old girl to drive an All Terrain Vehicle in the Town of Tompkins on June 26 which crashed, injuring the girl, an 8 year old passenger and 42 year old Beth Czerniak.

All three were ejected when the 12 year old lost control of the ATV on Rock Rift Mountain road in the Town of Tompkins.  The vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, overturned and came to rest in a creek.

Both girls and Czerniak are from Walton.

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say Cerzniak was transferred from Delaware Valley Hospital to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City for further treatment of a head injury.

Monday, she was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and ticketed for operating an unregistered ATV, unlawful operation of an ATV on a public road, operation of an ATV with no helmet, permitting the operation of an ATV on a highway by a minor and leaving the scene of an ATV accident without reporting.
