Will The NY Jets Return to Suny Cortland for Summer camp

The SUNY Cortland campus is buzzing with the hopes of the New York Jets return for summer training camp. Since 2009 the Jets have held their camp in Cortland (except the 2011 lockout) but with their contract up there is no set deal to continue this year.

In a press release Fred Pierce SUNY Cortland’s public relations director said “we’re proceeding as though they’re going to be here, preparing and hoping to once again host the NFL team”. Although Pierce says “we haven’t received any word one way or the other from the New York Jets”.

If I lived in Cortland I would be very excited about the Jets possibly holding their summer camp in my home town as I’m sure many the residents are excited about the possibility. .

The schools contract is up for an extension of 2 years, and that would followed by two, one-year options.
