There is a concept that humans will never fully accept or grasp;  all good things come to an end.

For 30-somethings it's their youth, for replacement refs it's a lockout.

For classic rock fans, as long as a band's members are still kicking, there is always the hope of a reunion.

Led Zeppelin formed in 1968, as a continuation of the disbanded Yardbirds (The New Yardbirds).
They were forced to take a new name after legal issues stopped them from using any mention of Yardbirds.  Atlantic records heard them and signed Zeppelin to the biggest deal of the time.  And so, a legendary group was born.

The band kicked out hit after hit, selling 300 million albums to date.  Then in 1980, drummer John Bonham died. Being loyal to the group as a whole, Page, Plant and Jones opted to simply "leave it at that" and disband.

That was the moment the hope of reunion began.  Move the clock forward to 3 weeks ago.

Even I was excited when I found out the group was planning a big announcement! Who wouldn't be?  And then the second biggest wish Zep fans had was realized.  The 2007 reunion concert would be released to DVD and audio. And in theaters. Minds were whirling.  Hmmm, "in theaters" means a red carpet premiere doesn't it?

And, yes, there was a red carpet premiere in London last Friday.  Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones each showed up and as a band they all took part in an after film q&a.

The main question everyone asked was if the band would reunite, even if for a one time show.  The guys evaded and left the answer open ended.

My hope would be the answer is no. Before you scream and get angry at me, think about why I say this.

It's it better to go out on top instead of when the old notes don't hit as strongly (or as in tune)?  Why ruin the memories their fans have of the "good old days" with a performance that is only a shadow of their greatness?

Plant admitted that the film had to be edited for "Kashmir" because his voice started to give out.  Robert Plant is 64 for God's sake!

I think we should cut Led Zeppelin a break.  They gave us phenomenal music, which we can hear over and over on CD anytime we want.  Let them enjoy their new projects and lives in peace.

They did grant one wish, didn't they?  They are giving us their 2007 reunion to view for infinity.

Happy life guys, and thanks for all you did for your fans and classic rock!
