The Whale time machine is ready to rock back into the past. Ready to go? Let's set the date to October 10th, 1987. That's when a rock group named Whitesnake, had a number one hit on their hands.

That song was Here I Go Again, and it had just landed atop the US singles chart. David Coverdale takes the honors as the person who wrote the song. The tune was released on Whitesnake's album, 'Saints & Sinners' which came out in 1982 to little success, and then again in 1987 on the album 'Whitesnake', where it became a number one jem. Sometimes it just takes a second try or tweaking to make a song become a hit.

The video for the song had two versions. The first in 1982 and the second in 1987. For this week's Classic Rock Pick, enjoy Whitesnake performing Here I Go Again along with some help from the audience at a 2006 London concert.
