December 1968 - where was I? If memory serves me correct, I was in middle school. 8th grade to be exact. I was loving shop class and hating math class. Typical for a 14 year old male teen in the late 60s, I guess.

Musically, I was into many of the greats of that year, including The Beatles. As a matter of fact, it was December of 1968 The Beatles latest album - the 'White Album' topped the UK album chart and hung around for about seven weeks. To be accurate, the album is titled 'The Beatles.'

All the songs on that album are great, but some that stand out for me include While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Helter Skelter, Rocky Raccoon, Dear Prudence and Wild Honey Pie, which clocks in at only 52 seconds long.

The double album also topped the albums charts in the US, Canada, Australia and a few other countries as well. For this week's Classic Rock Pick, enjoy Paul McCartney performing Helter Skelter at the Glastonbury Music Festival in 2004.
