Remember when we were kids and looked at the stars? We learned about the Big Dipper, the Moon and the Milky Way. We enjoyed ourselves!

When was the last time you took a minute to just look at space and soak it in? I did about a month ago. I was thinking about how I used to watch meteor showers with my Dad, so I paused and looked up.

It was beautiful. I know as we grow up, we get so wrapped up in life that fun stuff like checking out the heavenly bodies gets tossed to the side, but why should it?

Last night, there were solar flares that shot from the sun's surface and the video is spectacular. No we couldn't watch it happen from here (because we'd go blind!), but the images and more info about space are at NASA's website.

Take some time to stop the world and enjoy it for a bit. If you have kids or grand kids, get a telescope and teach them. It's never too late.
