When I moved here I thought you, 'Binghamtonites', were so used to the snow and cold that it wouldn't make you flinch, but what I see is the opposite.

What's up with the snow drama, winter drama, whatever you want to call it?

It's not like we are up in Buffalo or that region. They are entitled to be dramatic! They just had multiple feet of snow in 3 days (November) and this is what their snow forecast looks like for today:

We couldn't even dream of getting over 48 inches in one shot like this! The NWS Buffalo office is working their tails off to prepare people who could truly be in danger and we worry about a couple of inches?

We need to man up!

I admit that when you hear scary and hyped terms from forecasters, it is easy to panic. And we should always be cautious and drive appropriately in winter weather, but don't run to the store to stock up and repost scary (and not really from legit forecasters) predictions on social media.

Reposting forecasts from people on social media who are not true weather professionals is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to weather drama. Why would anyone do that? I see these posts all the time!

What do you think about the drama?
