It's another great summer weekend in the Southern Tier and there is a ton to keep you busy. Here are some event s to choose from:

The Harpursville United Methodist Church is hosting a super celebration buffet breakfast Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 am. If you want some delish food without making it yourself, this would be the place to go.

Also on Saturday, join the fun at St. Paul's Church, 282 Chenango Street in Binghamton, from noon to 3 for an ice cream social. It features live music by Spread the Blaze and benefit the youth program.

More food is on the Saturday plate with a chicken barbecue at Fairview United Methodist Church, 254 Robinson Street in Binghamton, from 11 am to 6 pm. Take outs only. It's $7 per dinner. This benefits the church bell choir. I was a hand bell player, this is a good cause!

To burn off the calories from the great food, how about heading over to Otsiningo Park for a fundraising walk to benefit Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS)? The two mile walk/run for you and your dogs kicks off at 11 am. Registration is at 10. There will be a post party with music, demonstrations canine contests and more. Sounds like a howlin' good time.

For riders, the 3rd American Pride Ride to benefit children of fallen soldiers is Saturday at
American Legion Post 1700, Maple Street in Endicott. Registration from 9 to 11:30
with kickstands up at noon. Lots of fun including live music, food and more!

Planning ahead for  the week, it's Vacation Bible School time!
