It's BU Family Weekend, we're preparing for the Columbus Day parade (Monday at 10 am in downtown Binghamton), and there's great high school football on tap. That is just the tip of the iceberg, though!

Today, until 11 pm, there is a benefit spaghetti dinner for cancer patient Jenny Finch at the Chenango Fire Station on Castle Creek Road. Carry outs are available and there will be raffles.

The Endicott Elks Friday dinner is liver and onions along with their regular menu. Serving from 5 to 7 pm.

North Fenton United Methodist Church is hosting a rummage and bake sale on Saturday with a bag sale from 8 to 11 am.

The 4th Annual Bras for a Cause is tomorrow at UHS Vestal, 4417 Vestal Parkway East, from noon to 4 pm. It features the stiletto race and there will be music, food, games, family friendly fun with the point of raising community awareness about breast cancer prevention and detection.

The Conklin Presbyterian Church's 8th Oktoberfest is Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm with a cafe lunch, shopping and free parking/admission.

The Sanitaria Springs Fire Company is having a spaghetti dinner on Saturday at 4 pm.

There will be a model train show and sale at the Hawley Fire Company, 17 Columbus Avenue, on Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm.

St. Cyril's Social Club, 148 Clinton Street in Binghamton, is having a french toast breakfast on Sunday from 7:30 am until noon.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 72 Main Street in Binghamton, is having a spaghetti pie dinner on Saturday from 4 to 6 pm. Take outs available.

The Broome County Humane Society is having a wine tasting event on Saturday from 5 to 9 pm at the Endicott Elks Lodge #1977, 619 North Nanticoke Ave,. There will be a raffle, ziti dinner, silent auctions, live music and tastings from local wineries. Limited tickets available. Call 724-3709.

This month, the Broome County Public Library hosts two levels of computer classes; one for job seekers and one for the basics. classes will be taught by BU students. For more info, call 778-6451.

Applications for Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday food are being accepted through October 31st. Low to moderate income Owego residents can apply. Residents may also register for gifts for all Tioga County children, ages infant to 18. Contact Sister Mary O'Brien at 687-3021.

The YMCA's "Well Aware" Series is Tuesday from noon to 1 pm at the West Family YMCA, 740 Main Street in JC. It features speaker Cathy Lipski and "Quit Whining and Just do It." Admission is free.

The American Red Cross, along with the state of NY and the Greene Rotary Club, are hosting a free citizen preparedness corps training session on Wednesday at 8 am at Geneganslet Golf Club in Greene. For more information, call 785-7207.

Sunday the 19th is the 32nd annual CHOW Hunger Walk on the BU campus. registration is at 1 pm and the walk begins at 2. there will be free food, beverages plus entertainment and music too.
