As March ticks by and we get closer to warm weather, there are more activities to enjoy in the Southern Tier.

There will be a Valley Social Dance from 7pm to 11pm on Friday at the VFW Post 1536 Banquet Room, 932 W. Lockhart St.in Sayre .

The Binghamton Breakfast Rotary Club is having a pancake breakfast on Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 at American Legion Post 80, 76 main Street in Binghamton.

The Broome County Public Library hosts the NYPENN Pathways Girl Scouts with a Girl Scout Cookie Tasting Party on Wednesday march 11 at 3:30 pm. Taste them and learn how the cookies are made. RSVP by calling Nicki at 724-6572 extension 2528.

The Endicott Elks Friday night dinner special is Chicken & Biscuits along with their regular menu and a Lenten option, 5pm to 7:30pm. The club will also feature "Band of Gold" with local favorites Don Miller and Al Green from 8pm to 11pm.

The American Red Cross of the Southern Tier will host a Babysitter's Training class for youth on Saturday from  9am to 4pm for ages 11 to 15, at the Red Cross office 620 E. Main St.in Endicott. Space is limited and advanced registration is required - call 1-800-733-2767.

The NYS Southern Tier Local Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is holding its Annual Hunter Heritage banquet at the Owego Treadway Inn on Saturday. Doors will open at 5pm, social hour will be held from 5pm to 6pm, and dinner will be at 6pm.

On March 9th, the Vestal Community Chorus Open House is hosting potential members.It will be at the Central Junior high School (near Four Corners in Vestal.) at 7 pm and runs for 2 hours. Contact Director Barbara Press at (607) 754-5710.

The World Day of Prayer is Friday and a service will be held at grand Boulevard United Methodist Church, 113 grand Boulevard in Binghamton from 10 am to noon with a luncheon to follow.
