I must say that the weekend is a little light on activities, but there are plenty of upcoming events.

Here's what's happening:

There will be a benefit for Beth Petrolle, who is fighting cancer, on Saturday at 4 pm at Close Quarters, Pine Street in Endicott. Proceeds go towards medical bills and travel.

The Maine American Legion hosts an all you can eat chicken and biscuit dinner on Saturday from 4 to 7 pm.

The Greater Binghamton United FC has its Jack Frost Soccer Tournament on Saturday at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex at 1500 Airport Road. There will also be a bake sale, t-shirt sale and more.

Zion Lutheran Church, 17C West in Owego, host a pork loin dinner tonight from 4:30 to 7 pm.

The Endicott Elks Sunday breakfast buffet is from 8 to 11 am. Adults are $7.50,  $4 for children 5 to 12 and under for is free.

It's Bingo at the West Windsor Fire Station on January 18th at 2 pm. Tickets are $10.

The Broome County Public Library Knitting Group holds a mini-class on January 20th at 5:30 pm where you can learn to knit a Valentine heart. It can be used in many ways! The group is open to knitters of all skill levels.

The Binghamton After 5 Dinner meeting is January 20th from 6:15 to 8:15 pm at the Relief Pitcher on Conklin Ave. There will be a speaker and music. To reserve your spot call 770-9142.

Broome County Celtic Pipes & Drums presents their fundraiser: A Robert Burns Evening at McGirks Irish Pub on Saturday at 5 pm. For more information, call 237-6859.

It’s National Volunteer Blood Donor Month and the American Red Cross is teaming up with Dunkin Donuts to bring in much needed blood donors. If you give blood, you may get a $5 DD card!

The City of Binghamton is looking for school crossing guards. To find out pay, hours, and requirements, stop by the 5th floor of Binghamton City Hall or call 772-7095.

The YMCA Childcare Center is now enrolling for fall 2015 Universal Pre K. For details and requirements, call 772-0560.
