It's another beautiful weekend in the Southern Tier! The temperatures may be dropping but the level of activities to explore is still high. Here are some things to do this weekend.

Friday

The Valley Social Group Dance is tonight from 7 to 11 pm at the VFW Post #1536 in Sayre, PA. Music and refreshments. It's a great way to meet new people.

Help out our furry friends by enjoying the Animal Care Council's Annual Wine Tasting & Auction tonight at the Knights of Columbus, 126 Main Street in JC. It will be from 5:30 to 9 pm. Tickets are $25 at the door.

Holly Day Fair at Our Lady of Good Council Parish Center, 701 West Main Street in Endicott is  from 9 am to 4 pm. today and tomorrow There will be handmade crafts, a quilt raffle, all day bake sale and food. Lunch will be served from 11 am to 2 pm with takeouts available.

Saturday

Help out a young local resident's battle with breast cancer! Head to the Guest Bartender Benefit at Big Daddy O's, 326 Jennings Street in Endicott, from 1 to 7 pm. Proceeds benefit Toni Natale for her treatment and costs. There will be basket raffles, 50/50's, and a portion of Big Daddy O's sales will go to Toni as well!

The Oxford American Legion, Fort Hill Post #376, is hosting the Oxford Academy High School Band Booster's chicken barbecue and bottle drive on Saturday at 9 am. All are invited to bring recyclables.

St. Michael's Church is having a Holubki take out sale on Saturday from 9 am to noon at the recreation center on 298 Clinton Street in Binghamton. Call 237-0516 to pre-order.

American Legion Post 89, Jensen Rd, Vestal, hosts the Humane Society's 1st annual top dog team trivia night, fun raffles trivia and fun on November 9th 5pm-9pm.  For more information call the humane society at 724-3709.

The Maine Masonic Lodge, on Route 26, is hosting a roast beef dinner on Saturday from 4:30 to 6 pm. Takeouts are available.

Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church, 918 Upper Front Street in Binghamton, is having a Harvest Dinner on Saturday from 4 to 7 pm. It's all you can eat!

The Northern Wayne Fire Company is hosting a Turkey Raffle at the fire hall in Lakewood, PA at 7 pm. Card games for capons, raffles for turkeys, ham and a lawn mower. Food and fun for everyone!

The Cornerstone Church, 911 East Main Street in Endicott, is hosting a Greater Faith & Deliverance Paddle Party/Quarter Auction with a preview at 5 pm and 5:30 pm start. $5 admission includes raffle tickets and paddle.

The Cortland County Sheriff's Department is holding a Snowmobile Safety Course at their Regional Training Center starting at  am. Youths ages 10 to 18 must take the course before lawfully operating a snow mobile.

SUNDAY

St. Francis of Assisi Parish Hall, 1049 Chenango St in Hillcrest, has their Harvest dinner Sunday from 12-4pm.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 834 Bunn Hill Road in Vestal, hosts a vegetarian dinner from 4:30 to 6 pm at the church.

The First Congregational Church, 30 Main Street in Binghamton, is holding Jazz Vespers from 5 to 6 pm featuring Jazz vocalist Cookie Coogan. No admission but free will offering is accepted.

Our Savior Lutheran Church, 731 Hooper Avenue in Endwell, is having a special service honoring Veterans at 20 am. All veterans, their friends and family are welcome to come. There will be a special flag ceremony, patriotic music, guest speakers, and light refreshment.

And for anytime: Broome County Public Library has a new adult literacy section for new readers and teachers. There are also literacy volunteers ready and willing to serve you right inside the library. Tutors are available on the second floor. For more information call 778-6400
