  • The Apalachin Lions Club hosts its 4th Annual Lion 5K Walk/Run, October 17th at the Apalachin Frieman’s Field Day Grounds at 10am, with registrations beginning at 8:30. Pre-registration is twenty dollars; twenty-five day of the race. Learn more at apalachin lions 5K dot com.
  • The next Chenango County Rabies Clinic is October 20th at the Oxford Fire Station from 5:30 to 7pm. The clinic is free; donations are accepted. For more information call 607-337-1673.
  • Maine American Legion Post 1390, Route 26, Maine, is having an All-You-Can-Eat Chicken & Biscuit Dinner on October 17th from 4 to 7pm. Adults eight dollars; children 6 to 12 four dollars; children under 5 free.
  • Triangle Fire Station, Route 206, Triangle is having a free will donation Soup, Sandwich & Dessert Bar on October 17th from 3 to 6pm. Bake Sale and Basket Raffle too.
  • The Leonardsville Fire Deparment is having a Donation Pancake Breakfast on October 18th from 7 to 10:30am at the Fire Hall on Mill Street. For take-outs call 315-855-4466.
  • The Humane Society hosts its 5th Annual Wine Tasting & Silent Auction on Thursday, October 22nd from 5 to 9pm at Terra Cotta in downtown Binghamton. Tickets are thirty dollars in advance at Vestal Wine & Liquor and at The Humane Society; thirty-five dollars at the door.
  • There is a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction to benefit Ian McDonnell, who is in need of medical assistance to manage Type 1 Diabetes, at the West Endicott Fire Station on October 24th from 3 to 7pm. For more information contact Nicole Johnson at 624-0139.
  • There is a chicken barbeque on October 25th from 10am until sold out at All Saints Church, 42 Harry L. Drive, Johnson City. Cost is six dollars for half chicken only.
  • Thompson United Methodist Church, 586 Main Street, Thompson P-A is having a Roast Beef Supper on October 24th beginning at 4:30 for take-out; 5pm for eat-ins. Donation is eleven dollars for adults, 5-50 for children 6 to 12, children 5 and under are free.
  • There is a rummage and bake sale on October 24th at Little Meadows United Methodist Church, 843 Pennsylvania Ave from 9 to 2 with a bag sale at one. Lunch will be available.
  • Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Ave, Endicott, is having a rummage and bake sale on October 24th from 9 to 3, with a bag sale from one to three.
  • Immanuel Presbyterian Church is having a home-made soup, bread and pie luncheon on October 24th beginning at 1pm. Donation six dollars.
  • The Knights of Columbus Council 206 is holding their Annual Turkey Party, October 30th from 7 to 10pm at the K of C Hall, 136 Park Ave, Binghamton. Door prizes, free refreshments and snacks. Six dollar donation.
  • Sanitaria Springs Fire Company is having a Ham & Turkey Raffle on October 24th at 7pm with doors opening at 6. Food and drink. Five dollar donation at the door.
