Looking for things to do in our community? Here’s what's going on around the Greater Binghamton area over the next week.

  • The first annual Collin Murray Memorial Golf Tournament is August 15th at Traditions at the Glen. Cost is 75 dollars per person and includes golf, dinner, and a t-shirt. Tournament is captain and crew. Door prizes and raffles too. Registration is at noon, shotgun start at 1pm. Call 607-242-2668 to learn more.
  • The Town of Binghamton Volunteer Fire Company’s Chicken Barbeque is August 15th from 4 to 7pm at Hawleyton Church to support the Fireman’s Benevolence Fund. Full order eight dollars. Take out only.
  • The First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City, at the corner of Main Street and Floral Ave is having a chicken barbeque Saturday, August 15th from 10am until sold out. Half barbeque chicken is five dollars; dinners are 7-50. The church is also holding a yard, rummage, and bake sale from 9 to 2.
  • The next Major’s Inn Foundation of Gilbertsville benefit concert is August 19th featuring Fetish Lane from 6:30 to 8:30. All proceeds go toward the ongoing restoration of the Major’s Inn.
  • Triple Cities soccer officials are meeting every Monday in August at 6:30pm in UE High School’s large lecture hall. Rule books available at the meetings.
  • The Endicott Elks has two dollar cans and six dollar clams, plus a bar menu, available every Tuesday night from six to nine. All are welcome.
  • The annual BDAST Golf Tournament Fundraiser to help families living with chronic bleeding disorders is August 22nd at the Belden Hill Golf Club. Captain & Crew … team registration noon until one … shotgun start at 1:30.  For more information go to b d a s t dot org.
  • The Knights of Columbus T. Ward Giblin Memorial Chicken Barbeque is Saturday, August 22nd at K of C #206, 136 Park Ave Binghamton from noon ‘till gone. Ten dollars for half chicken, salt potatoes, coleslaw and baked beans.
  • The Southern Tier Antique Gas & Steam Engine Association holds their 41st annual show August 21st through 23rd at Town Park, Route 26, Maine. Stover engines, Case tractors, plus lots of displays and activities for the whole family. For more information call 624-3834, or 592-6099.
  • Free on-farm healthy soils workshops for dairy operators who graze their cows will be held August 24th at Fay Benson’s Custom Grazing Farm, 546 Cobb Street, Groton; August 25th at Bob Zufall’s No-Grain Dairy, 21 Campbell Road, Lisbon; and August 26th at Dan Casler’s Organic Dairy, 909 Paradise Road in Little Falls.
