It may be an important Sunday, but there is much more than football to focus on in the Southern Tier!

A Winter soup and sandwich vegetarian dinner is being held Saturday from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 834 Bunn Hill Rd in Vestal.

There is a spaghetti dinner benefit for baby Briella as she continues to fight illness. It's Saturday from 1 to 5 pm at the American Legion Post 80, 76 Main Street in Binghamton. Silent auctions, basket raffles and more. Proceeds benefit the family for their mounting expenses.

The Endicott Elks Friday night dinner is pork roast and dressing along with their regular menu. Serves from 5 to 7 pm, then the band Messy Truth performs from 8 to 11 pm.

Free Income Tax Assistance is available at several locations in Broome County for those with low or middle incomes, especially those 60 and older. For locations and appointments, call 625-2658

The Broome County Public Library is hosting Chinese language classes now through May 2nd at 2 pm on Saturday afternoons. To register, call 778-6451.

Eastern Broome Senior Center, 27 Golden Lane in Harpursville, hosts a chili and cornbread luncheon on Saturday from 11:30 am until 2 pm. Music provided by New Appalachia from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Eat in or take out. The public is welcome!

Did you know youth in New York ages 10 and up are required to complete a Young Boater Safety Training Course to operate watercraft in NY? The next session is February 11 through 15 during the Central NY Boat Show at the State fairgrounds in Syracuse. Register by calling 315-312-3042 now. Courses are the 11th from 6 to 8 pm and the 14th from 9 am to 2:30 pm.

The 4th annual ground hog garage sale and antiques/collectible market is Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm at the Owego Elks Lodge, 223 Front Street in Owego.

The Round Hill Masonic Center is having a roast pork dinner on Sunday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Take out will be available.
