Another weekend is here and another chance to complain that you are bored. NOT! There is plenty going on in the Southern Tier and I have a partial list to prove it. Not only is there a lot going on, but the variety is pretty good too.

How about stopping by the indoor garage sale in Port Dickinson at the Community Baptist Church? It going on from 9 am to noon today and tomorrow with many household items. The Church is at 743 Chenango Street. The garage sale even benefits a good cause; the van fund for My Brother's Keeper.

You can hop over to Conklin for their Community Yard sale tomorrow too! It's on the town streets from 8 am to 3 pm. Can you imagine all the cool stuff you will find?

There is never a lack of chicken barbecue around the Southern Tier either! One place you can find it tomorrow is the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City, on the corner of Main and Floral. Get there early, because it goes fast. They are open from 10 am until it's all sold out.

Motorcycle season is here, so I would be remiss not telling you about the Great Bend Hose Company's Poker Run. The Hose company has teamed up with American Legion Post 357 Riders Club for this fun day. Sign ups are at 11 am at the Hose company and kickstands up at noon. There is a meal after the ride to enjoy too. Proceeds go to the Great Bend Hose Company.

If you're into flea markets, craft fairs and cars then I have the stop for you on Saturday. It's the Port Crane Fire Company Family Fun Day tomorrow from 11 am to 6 pm. You can find the fun on Route 369 across from State Park. Not only is there a craft vendor area (who doesn't love homemade stuff?), but there is a flea market section, chicken barbecue and a car show.

The car show is put on by the American Cruisers Car Club. They are the fine folks who help us at Cruisin' Pallooza and they are letting you register your car for Cruisin' Pallooza right there (at a discount) too. It's all rain or shine and helps benefit CHOW.

After a long day of fun, take in a movie tomorrow night at Titchner Hall at BCC. They are showing the classic Road To Morocco with the legendary Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour! It's at 7 pm.

If you don't want to cook for Mom on Sunday, grab some delish chicken barbecue at the Maine American Legion on Route 26. It goes from noon until sold out and you can eat in or take out.

Happy Mother's Day and enjoy your busy Southern Tier weekend! I know I will! If you have a future event you want me to share email me.
