What Was Your First Vehicle?

Do you remember your first car or truck or motorcycle? For me, it was a Ford Custom 500, used.

It was a dependable first car, until I wrecked it because the tires lacked a bit of tread on them. My Uncle had to come tow it home, but there wasn't much he could do to salvage my first car. The next vehicle I wanted to buy, was standard gear, and I had never learned to drive a one of those types of cars.

My Dad put it best. He said, if you like the car, buy it, and you'll learn how to drive standard, which you should know how to do anyway. So I did. It was nerve-wracking to start. The scariest part was being stopped on a hill and trying to get going forward, without going backward and hitting the vehicle behind me. It seems every standard drive vehicle has it's own quirks when it comes to getting the gear in forward. I found that out with each standard car I bought.
