Day One of the 27th annual Whale Bowl of Rock-n-Roll is in the history books.
And when I say 'history books', I mean the filing cabinet where I keep past records of Whale Bowl results.

The opening round battles kicked off Wednesday morning with Doug Mosher, and as we progressed throughout the day, there were some tight battles, some blowouts, and quite frankly for me, no surprises.

Lynyrd Skynyd and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers kicked off the first round with Skynyrd winning by a rather large margin.
Battle blowouts occurred between The Eagles/ Queen, Aerosmith/U2, Def Leppard/Metallica, Pink Floyd/Kiss, Led Zeppelin/Stevie Ray Vaughn and Rolling Stones/Doobie Brothers.
Close calls were Guns-n-Roses/Rush, Creedence Clearwater Revival/Bon Jovi, and Bob Seger/Van Halen.

Artists/Bands in bold were the winners in Round One.

Today, we'll finish up the Round One Battles, and move on to the Classic Rockin' 16 Battles around 1:40pm.
Battles begin at approximately :40 after each hour between 7:40am and 5:40pm today and Friday.

Thank you for your votes, and continue to vote for your favorite Classic Rock artist/band as we move on with the 27th annual Whale Bowl of Rock-n-Roll!
