I realize not everything about 2016 was bad.  We had an awesome rock-n-roll time on The Whale with great events, contests, music and fun! Winter was mild, Summer was hot and sunny. Hopefully it was a great year for you.

For me, I had a fabulous camping season, went more into debt with a new camper, put a new roof on my home and refinanced it, so once again I own none of it, but hey you only live once. Or do we?

On the not good side, we lost more musicians and celebrities than I've ever experienced in my several decades on this planet. Those in the music world include David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Keith Emerson, Leon Russell, Lemmy, Greg Lake, Jerry Corbetta, Rob Wasserman, George Martin, Paul Kantner, Jimmy Bain, Prince and George Michael among others,

Celebrities and people who made a big mark on the world include Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, Alan Rickman, Abe Vigoda, George Kennedy, Garry Shandling, Patty Duke, Doris Roberts, Morley Safer, Muhammad Ali, Gordie Howe, Gary Marshall, Gene Wilder, Arnold Palmer, Janet Reno, Leonard Cohen, Robert Vaughn, Florence Henderson, Fidel Castro, Ron Glass, John Glenn, Alan Thicke, Zsa Zsa Gabor and so many more.

Death is a part of life. We understand that, especially as we grow older. I'm guessing many of you have lost a loved one in 2016. I know several of my friends and co-workers have.

Let's just hope 2017 can slow down that loss in the 365 days it will be around.
