As you know my favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles. I watched the game last night expecting it to be a close game because most division rival games in the NFL are. It doesn't matter how many points a team is leading by both the Eagles and the Giants have made miraculous comebacks against each other.

As I watched the game last night I thought the Eagles defense played their best game of the year. And don't take this the wrong way Giants fans, I'm not pouring salt in any wounds, but I kept wondering if the Eagles defense was playing that well or if the Giants offense was playing that poorly. Either way, I was happy with the win.

The two things I took away from the game were; Carson Wentz is continuing to get back to where he was before he tore his ACL and MCL late last season. And that should have some teams in the NFL pretty nervous.

The other takeaway was that Saquon Barkley is awesome. I thought he was great at Penn State and was wondering how he would fare in the NFL. After the game last night, I'm not wondering anymore. Barkley is the real deal and the Giants are very fortunate to have him.

Last night  Barkley played like a running back who has been in the league for 10 years. There were a handful of plays last night where it looked like the Eagles were trying to tackle a bull who broke free from the rodeo. We are only 6 weeks into his rookie season which means he's only going to get better.

As long as Saquon Barkley stays healthy the Giants will have one of the, if not the best running back in the NFL for many years to come. And that should scare the crap out of every team in the NFL.
