A Binghamton woman and a homeless man face felony counts for allegedly possessing methamphetamine found during a traffic stop.

Authorites say 40-year-old Dawn Cole and 38-year-old Michael Bish were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of material used to make meth.

Cole also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and other traffic violations.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped a vehicle operated by Cole on Old Front Street in the town of Dickinson around 10 a.m. Thursday.

A strong chemical odor was coming from the car and a sheriff's deputy observed items in the vehicle that are used to manufacture meth.

A substance found in the car tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Cole and Bish were arraigned in Dickinson town court and set to Broome County Jail without bail.

A New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team was called to handle the potentially-dangerous materials seized from the vehicle.
