Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say they found a commercial vehicle with a long list of violations following a crash in the Town of Walton in May.

Authorities say the driver, 37 year old Joel Klinegardner of Sidney Center, was issued 25 uniform traffic tickets June 27 as a result of the crash on Pines Brook Road in the Town of Walton that happened at the parking lot of a church.

Klinegardner was driving a log skidder at 2:05 p.m. May 31 when the trailer detached from the Springdale Construction truck as he was attempting to make a turn.  The truck hit a sign in front of the Pines Brook Baptist Church while the detached trailer tipped over in the parking lot but missed the building.  The truck ended up traveling further down the road and hit a tree.

Among the violations, Klingardner was ticketed for failing to conduct a pre-trip inspection, driving without a commercial license, no brakes on the trailer, no emergency brakes, defective parking brake on a commercial vehicle, inoperable brake, clamp brake out of adjustment, switched trailer plate and speed not reasonable.

There were no injuries.

Klingartner is scheduled to appear in Town of Walton Court at a later date.
