Truck Crash Clean-Up Takes 12 Hours

A crash of a tractor trailer full of construction debris on Route 17 West between Vestal and Apalachin March 20 is still under investigation.

The crash at 5:45 a.m. sent the driver to Wilson Hospital with minor injuries and closed some lanes on the highway for over 12 hours.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Spill team responded as there was a report of a diesel fuel leak.

Heavy equipment had to be brought in to remove the debris spilled in the median and to remove the truck.
