Tomorrow, August 7th. is National Night Out. National Night Out is celebrated on the first Tuesday in August. It's a day designed to take back our neighborhoods. It is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participate in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit with police and community partners.

There are a bunch of National Night Out festivities planned in the Broome County area.

In Binghamton, there will be events and entertainment held at several Binghamton City parks including; Columbus Park, Fairview Park, and Cheri A. Lindsey Park. Events will also be held at the Saratoga Apartments, Carlisle Apartments, The Boys and Girls Club, and at The Broome County Library.

In Vestal, according to the Vestal Police news release, they will celebrate with a cookout and car show at the Parkway Plaza near Target. Proceeds from the cookout will benefit the Broome County Crime Victim's Assistance Center. There will be bounce houses for the kids and a dunk tank as well. The event will run from 6 to 9 P.M

In Endwell, according to The Press and Sun Bulletin, it will take place at the Endwell United Methodist Church with live music, food and kids activities from 4:30 till 8 P.M.

In Johnson City, according to a press release from the Police Department, Just to be different, their night out will take place on Thursday night at The Schorr Family Fire House Stage on Willow St from 5:30 to 7:30. It will include free music, free games, and free snacks.

In Endicott, the National Night Out festivities will take place from 5 to 8 P.M. On the Village Municipal Grounds. There will be food, games, entertainment, giveaways for children, raffles and more.
