Timothy B. Schmit, who left Poco to join the Eagles in 1977, will reunite with the former band when they're inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame at Denver's Paramount Theater on Jan. 9.

“Timothy has been a gracious artist over the decades," said Colorado Music Hall of Fame chairman Chuck Morris in a statement (via Reverb). "And I’m thrilled that he will be part of our program and help make history in front of Colorado music fans.”

Schmit joined Poco after the release of their 1969 debut 'Pickin' Up the Pieces,' replacing original bassist Randy Meisner who, coincidentally, quit to help form the Eagles. Although associated with the L.A. country-rock scene, pedal steel guitarist Rusty Young and drummer George Grantham hail from Denver, and the rest of the band followed them to Colorado in 1971.

This year's crop of inductees into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame are practically a who's-who of '70s bands that mixed country and soft rock. In addition to Poco, Stephen Stills' Manassas, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Firefall will be honored for their contributions.
