The Multi Stack record player allowed you to put multiple records on the stack. The player’s arm would then swing back, as another record would drop down. Finally the arm would swing over and set down on the edge of the record.

I grew up with the 45 RPM records, my father bought me my first records when I was about 4-years-old. ‘Mr Bassman’ by Johnny Cymbal and ‘Puff The Magic Dragon’ by Peter Paul and Mary were among the firsts.

I would save up my money and go to the record store to buy as many 45 records as possible! I didn’t start buying albums until I was a little older.

I remember going to the record store on Robinson Street in Binghamton, and also the Family Bargain Center on Henry Street. They would have a box of them that you couldn’t see what you were getting until you bought them. It's a good thing they were always a bunch that I liked.

I had several record players, like the one pictured above. Throughout my life music has always been a big part of me, and when ever I see an old style one like this, it always takes me back.

There you have it! My Throwback Thursday memory, the Multi Stack Record Player.
