Throwback Thursday – Magic City Ice Company

Today's Throwback Thursday is the Magic City Ice Company on Front Street in Binghamton. Demolition on the building began yesterday and will continue today.

I remember my Uncle Rob use to work when they called it Cutlers. He took me in there when I was very young, and I remember how dark and cold it was. I remember thinking, this is not a place I would want to work.

The building had become an eye sore over the years, and is now the casualty of the Front Street Gateway Project.

Originally Cutler Ice, the businesses go back to the 19th century in Binghamton history.

This week we say goodbye to the building many of us have driven by for so many years.
