My throwback item is a toy that I’m quite sure would be banned by the parents of today, as it had the dangerous elements of heat and chemicals.

Introduced in 1964, Mattel’s Creepy Crawler, had a bunch of metal cast molds in the shape of spiders and other creepy insects. It came with bottles of different colored liquid chemicals called 'Plastigoop'.

Children would pour the different colored chemicals in to the 'Thing Maker' molds which would heat the chemical at 390 degrees, and then cooled to make rubber replicas of insects.

I had at least three of these, and in the late 60’s early 70’s I had a version called 'Incredible Edibles', that allowed you to eat your creations!
