A fire damaged property on Hudson Street in Johnson City that has been vacant for over three years and a couple flood-damaged properties in the Town of Union are coming down.

The Broome Land Bank is overseeing the over $32,000 demolition project.  The properties will then be offered for sale to neighbors.

Village and Town officials called the vacant properties dangerous buildings as well as being long-time eyesores.

The lots on Birch Street and Oakdale Road have been vacant since the 2011 flood and have become nuisances.

Gorick Construction is the demolition contractor for the $32,550 project with Keystone Environmental services doing the environmental work.
