never have heard of Whitney Point Lake. It's 4-miles of beautiful scenery, and breathtaking fishing and recreation, just 20 minutes from downtown Binghamton.  Oh.. lots of people have heard of Dorchester Park... but never ever been there! WHY THE HECK NOT?

Here's what happens at this beautiful lake: You can fish on it..  You can sail on it. You can jet ski on it. Motor boats... YEP! They hold the collegiate rowing championships thar, the Dorchester Triathalon... and you can have a nice picnic lunch or sunbathe and swim at Dorchester Park and Whitney Point Lake too!

"BUT IT'S WINTER 17 MONTHS OUTTA THE YEAR BIG WALLY... WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO THAR, THEN?"

Well.... you can drill holes in the ice and pull crappies through those frozenholes! (and yes, frozenhole is in fact, one word!)

Fall is coming up and Whitney Point Lake offers up some beautiful colors reflecting off the pristine waters provided by the Otselic River. And... there's now an awesome paved walkway/bike path around a large portion of this local wonder!

The people are friendly and the scenery is even friendlier... so what are you waiting for? Get yer frozenholes to Whitney Point Lake... it's just 20-minutes north of Binghamton in... um... yea.. Whitney Point!
