Every town has something that's unique to itself. It may be a name or a certain product, an interesting name of a building, street or an event that is unique to that town.

The Binghamton area is no exception. I have listed 5 that come to mind, and I imagine there are many more. I'd love to hear what they are, so comment below!

    Spiedies

I grew up just 75 miles from here and never heard of them until I moved to Binghamton. Spiedies are unique to the Binghamton area, but should be a nationwide phenomenon.

    Kamikaze Curve

It's our own, and we're proud it it, even if the official name is Prospect Mountain. I'm sure if you mentioned to anyone passing through town to slow down around Kamikaze Curve, you'd get a strange look, and maybe even a fearful response.

    End-Dee Cott

Again, I did not grow up in this area, so I refer to Endicott as it is spelled. But many locals pronounce it End-Dee-Cott. I kind of like it when someone pronounces it that way.

    Home Of The Square Deal

If you mentioned our area as the Home of the Square Deal to an outsider, they wouldn't really know what that means. referring to Endicott, Johnson City and the businesses that made those towns thrive like Endicott-Johnosn Company and IBM.

    City Chicken

It took me a long time to understand what that was. Maybe if I had just tried it the first time someone mentioned City Chicken to me, I would have understood. There are some other Northeast cities where this is is sold, including  Scranton, Pittsburgh and Detroit.
