Let's talk about the Hugh Grant movie, The Rewrite, which is about a has-been screen writer who is desperate for work. He ultimately takes a job teaching screenwriting at Binghamton University, yes our Binghamton.

The movie was directed by Marc Lawrence, who actually went to college in Binghamton! And if you didn't already know, several scenes were shot around town, and on the BU campus.

I watched the movie a few weeks ago and enjoyed seeing Binghamton in a much different light. Or through the lens of a motion picture camera rather.

There were references to local businesses, like Number Five and the Spiedie and Rib Pitt.

The film also stars Marisa Tomei, Allison Janney, Chris Elliot and JK Simmons, and has a really good story line. But the best part, is that it's about Binghamton!

Check out some interviews with Hugh Grant and Director Marc Lawrence, when they were here for the premiere last year, plus the trailer and other footage below.

The movie is out on DVD now, so if you're looking for something to watch on a rainy day you should rent it, and enjoy Binghamton through the eyes of Hollywood.
