Each year the Nation Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York inducts some of the most iconic toys in our history. This year they've included a special Video Game Hall of Fame.

The first six inductees into the World Video Game Hall of Fame have been announced!

The first induction goes to 'Pong' - the bare bones basic video game that kids went nuts over back in the 70's. I remember having this game. You could play against an opponent, or the computer, but as I recall the computer was pretty good.

'Pac Man' was also inducted. I remember my cousin, John, coming to me and telling me about this game he started playing in a bar and couldn't stop. We all eventually became hooked.

'Super Mario Brothers' made the list this year. In case you forgot, it was part of the Nintendo craze in the mid 80's. I loved SMB! I remember there was a secret spot in the game where you could get 100 lives.

'Tetris' was also included this year. I never really played that game, but it was very popular and induction worthy.

'Doom', and 'World of Warcraft' round out the six video games inducted this year. Both came after my gaming days, so I don't have much experience playing them. 'Doom' was the first shooting game of its kind, while 'World of Warcraft' was one of the first interactive online games that could be played by multiple people in various locations.
